I'm a second generation American, that grew up in the restaurant industry, however, I mainly dealt with the finance side of the operation. I ended up studying finance at the University of Pittsburgh and through finance I became interested in real estate. What parts of finance within real estate piqued my interest? Here is a short list: Depreciation, tax deductions, interest rate, tax deferral, debt service coverage ratio, and return on equity. I became a licensed real estate agent in 2013 and through working with clients with different needs, I got to see real estate through different lenses, instead of just the finance/investment perspective.
