Maurice (commonly known as Mo) Schmidt has been a licensed agent in the Emporia market for 45 years. He has often been regarded as the highest volume sales agent in the history of the Emporia Real Estate market. Mo has recently been the recipient of the Sunflower Realtor Association’s highest recognition, the Platinum Sales Achievement Award.
In addition to listing and selling, his career has included much development. He originated as owner the Ashley Estates and Ashley II condominium complexes, and the Kenyon Square and Whittier Court apartment complexes. He was also the planning agent for the Prairie Sage complex as well as building nearly three dozen spec single family homes in his career. Mo has been active and knowledgeable not only in single and multi-family property but has been a major player in the Emporia commercial real estate market.
Growing up the son of a farmer-dairyman, his interest and knowledge has also made him very active in agricultural listings and sales. Mo finds time to have fun. He is an active golfer as well as an avid Hornet, Jayhawk, Wildcat, Royals and Chiefs fan. He has been a longtime member of the Emporia Chamber of Commerce, Emporia Board of Realtors, Kansas and National Association of Realtors and the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Emporia.
