I was a late bloomer my momma said. It took a little bit before my frontal cortex kicked in she says. Maybe it's true. Towards the end of high school I was bored. The last thing I wanted to do was go to college to continue more school. I didn't even know who I wanted to be or where I wanted to go. But before I knew it, there I was, under the guidance of family and societal pressures living in Greeley, CO attending UNC. I made it a year and a half before I got let go on academic probation. Still lost and clueless as to what to do. I did what any sensible person would do. What they had dreamed about doing nearly their whole high school career. Move to a ski town and be a ski bum. I told myself and others it would be for just a year while I figured out what I want to do with my life. What happened instead was what I had been searching for all along. Adventures. Challenges. Growth. Experiences of the world that abounds with a variety of people from all over the world. I had found my place. I had the opportunity and space to deeply search my soul. As I approached 25 years of age I knew I could not stay. I only knew that I loved to work with people. I loved to serve people. I loved being a reason someone smiled. One sunny day in early December of 2011, I found myself loading onto the Black Mountain Express at A-basin. I was a snowboarder boy, she was a snowboarder girl. I said hey, she said hello. We had a date. We kissed, sat in a tree... well you know how it goes. My frontal cortex must have kicked in right about this time. We now live in the south Denver area as a family of 5 (got to include the furry 4-legged child). In search of something that would allow me to bring my life experiences, knowledge of communication, my innate ability to stay standing in trying times and confrontation, and my desire to serve people, real estate in many ways found me. I am so glad it did.
