About Me
To keep it brief I'll say I've lived a little. Born and raised in Louisville, Ky I am the son of a teacher, the grandson of a state Senator and a true southern debutant in my grandmother. Most importantly, I am the Dad of two of the most amazing souls my heart could have ever known.
I love my heritage in the bluegrass state and am well versed in bowties, bourbon and of course The Kentucky Derby. Being baptized in southern culture and etiquette, it’s fair to say that I'll always be a Kentucky boy at heart. An Old Fashioned, a Hot Brown, and MeMaws love are my southern comforts.
Throughout my life, if my family wasn't at our retreat in Lake Cumberland we were at the beach. The water has always called to me but the rhythm of the Gulf of Mexico rapping on the pristine beaches of Southwest Florida in the amphitheater of the Sun was a music I could not escape. It was a siren's song that played without pause within my soul until I finally gave into its endless calls to have and to keep me for herself.
If you've read this far then you deserve to know the grit behind the gloss. I was born a dreamer, a visionary... someone who sees well beyond "what is" deep into "what can be" and doing what it takes, by any means necessary, to span the gap between the two. Not just to dream, but to dare. This character trait comes with its fair share of scraps, bruises, ER visits, catastrophic failures, tragic loss and great sacrifice. Life from death... a story of triumph.
On this amazing journey to include being a Dad, I am a friend to many and a brother to a good few, I had a decorated career in the fire service that included work in New York after the attacks on 9/11/2001, I played football in the semi-pro leagues for more years than should have been allowed and have the honors of Team Captain, League Champion and National Champion. I played rugby for the Louisville Rugby Football club for 5 years at 40+yrs old. I am a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity.
