About Me
Home is not a Place... it's a Feeling.
My name is Laura Wicks, and after high school I moved to New Jersey. It was the final move with my family after living in Minnesota, Tennessee, and Alabama. During my adulthood, I took the opportunity to explore and moved to Florida, Missouri, and Pennsylvania, but I always felt the longing to return to New Jersey, the place that felt like my home.
My professional career began in the Human Resources Department at Frigidaire while I studied at Rutgers University. I transitioned to a role in retail management, as I was more passionate about being in the center of action, meeting new people and dealing with customers. I was managing a local art gallery when I first considered real estate.
It was 2005 and the market was very hot. I had a friend looking on a tight budget so I obtained my license in order to help. With persistence I successfully found the perfect house plus under budget! Voila, I discovered my passion for real estate.
I launched my real estate career in 2007 just as the market shifted in an unexpected direction. To supplement my real estate career, I also worked in title production until I obtained my mortgage license in 2013, giving me valuable experience and insight into the business. Nothing compares to the satisfaction I feel when I help my clients find the home of their dreams, matching their "wants" and "needs".
Outside of real estate, I'm all about living in the moment, dancing like nobody's watching - and I always love to cook for special occasions. I enjoy telling stories, especially about the journeys to finding the perfect house!
If you are looking to make a move, I am a great listener, skilled in negotiations, integrity driven and am committed to achieving my clients goals. I will be your greatest ally in both buying and selling.
