About Me
Jim is a proud veteran of the United States Army where he served as a Criminal Investigator. He continued his law enforcement career with the Cobb County Police Department where he was honored as the “Police Officer of the Year” twice.
Jim started his real estate career in 1981 as a homebuilder. He was licensed as a salesperson in 1994. In 1998 Jim earned his GRI designation and Associate Brokers license. He achieved his CRS in 2002. Jim has continued his real estate education by earning an ABR and SFR designations. He is currently an Associate Broker at RE/MAX Unlimited in Kennsaw, GA.
Jim is a member of the Northwest Metro Association of REALTORS® and Cobb Association of REALTORS®. He has served on the board of directors for both Associations and as their RPAC Chairperson. Jim has earned two Presidents Awards from NWMAR and is the current NWMAR Realtor® of the Year.
Jim currently serves as Vice President of the Georgia Association of REALTORS®. He also serves of the Board of Directors, Executive, Administration and Operations, Strategic Planning, Communication and Public Relations, Conference, Finance, Legal Action and Young Professionals Network committees. His other duties for the association are District 11 RPAC Trustee, District 11 Federal Political Coordinator (alternate) for Congressman Barry Loudermilk.
Jim has previously served the Georgia Association of REALTORS® as the Region1 Director, State and Local Governmental Affairs, Professional Development, Professional Standards, Realtor® Political Involvement, Grievance Committees and the 2018 Dean of the Graduate REALTOR® Institute.
Jim is married to his lovely wife and real estate partner Angela Barner. Angela and Jim are the proud parents of their son Enoch, who is an Eagle Scout, graduate from the University of Georgia and University of South Carolina Law.
