About Me
Dan Murphy grew up and lived in Southern California for 50 years. Graduating from California State Hayward in 2004 with degrees in Business Administration and Marketing, he spent four years playing college basketball and enjoyed the academic and athletic challenge of college. Dan worked for Pepsi for two years after college and knew that one day he wanted to work for himself. After meeting his wife Jennifer and marrying her within a year, they bought their first home in Simi Valley, California in 1998. They have been married for 24 years with three kids - twin girls, 19, and a 22-year-old son.
In 2004, Dan started his real estate career after a bad experience with another real estate agent. He worked for a small independent real estate company for two years before joining RE/MAX in 2006. With a degree and marketing and teaming up with the largest real estate company in the world, his business flourished. Dan has sold over 700 homes in Southern California and has been involved in referring business all over the world with the RE/MAX network. He has also managed a RE/MAX office and was responsible for growth for each agent.
Dan has reached the platinum sales level with RE/MAX each of the past 10 years and earned the lifetime achievement award in 2017. In 2019 and 2020, Dan was recognized for being in the top 1% of 130,000 RE/MAX agents worldwide. He is also a big advocate for the Children’s Miracle Network and donates money for every closing to this amazing organization.
In November of 2020, Dan bought a house in Franklin, Tennessee, wanting his family to experience the values and southern charm of the south. His family has enjoyed the past year exploring the beauty and people of Tennessee. In 2021, he received his real estate license in Tennessee and joined RE/MAX Homes and Estates, Lipman Group. With Larry Lipman, Chris Grimes, and staff, he knew he had picked the right broker to partner with and expand his business to Tennessee. He has embraced the chal
