His ancestors played significant roles in constructing the court house on the Town Square in Hayesville (BUILT IN 1888) as well as the Lake Chatuge Dam (COMPLETED IN 1942).
Benny's love for the area and its unique role in the community is palpable. He often reflects on the legacy of his forbearers whether it be biking on the trail atop Lake Chatuge Dam or boating-fishing on Lake Chatuge.
