This residence has a story to tell, originally owned by immigrant Mary Manziel, Joseph Manziel and Bobby Joe Manziel. The Manziel Family moved to Tyler, Texas friending Dr. Bain Leake. Dr. Leake and Mrs. Pearl purchased the residence to establish a new hospital. In 1955, Dr. and Mrs. Leake made this their homestead. After their deaths, the residence was transferred by Probate to Gwen Walker, a family friend. In April 1991, the residence was sold to Maxine Roberta Stein, current owner of the property. She has prided her tenure in maintaining the beautiful garden venues and landscaping features. The Manziel-Leake-Stein residence is culturally and historically endowed with a unique aura both past and present.
