Originally from Wheeling, West Virginia, Scott spent many years in Columbus, Ohio building a successful career in financial services before discovering Oak Island while purchasing an investment property during the pandemic. He and his husband quickly fell in love with the area and made the move permanent more than five years ago. Today, Scott enjoys helping others experience the same excitement of finding the right home or investment along the coast. Before becoming a real estate agent, Scott spent 25 years as an executive in financial services, with experience spanning mortgage lending, insurance, banking, marketing, and technology. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Information Systems from DeVry University and an MBA from Franklin University, giving clients valuable insight when navigating the financial side of buying or selling a home. Scott’s approach is simple: build trust first. By taking time to truly understand his clients, he creates a strong partnership that helps buyers and sellers move forward with confidence. Known for his attention to detail, Scott helps clients stay focused on the big picture while also identifying the smaller details that can impact a transaction. He also supports the community by connecting clients with trusted local small businesses and service providers. Scott lives on Oak Island with his husband, Kerby, and their four rescue dogs: Hazel, Janet, Tammy, and Loretta. When he’s not working with clients, he enjoys traveling, exploring new cities, tending to his collection of over 250 plants, and working toward a goal of visiting every National Park.
