About Me
Hickory has been my home for most of my life. I have witnessed many changes to the area over the years. I enjoy browsing the shops in the newly renovated downtown (www.downtownhickory.com). The seasonal farmers' market, Oktoberfest and Hickory Alive...are just some of the free events in the downtown area. We also have City Walk, River Walk and a beautiful baseball stadium, home of the Crawdads. Hickory has been named An "All American City" three times, and was recently (May 2022) ranked by US News "Best Places to Live" as the No 1 in Most Affordable Places to Live and No 31 in Best Places to Live in the United States.
