I came to real estate following a 27- year career as a social worker for the state of Illinois. After my state employment, I currently have worked for three years in crisis response. The combination of my own personal real estate experience (including an ongoing custom build!), my formal real estate training, and my previous career experience equips me to provide expert guidance to my clients through what is often the largest transaction of their lives. I spent decades being a calming influence in difficult situations and providing guidance during major life decisions. My personal life experience further elevated my already high degree of empathy when home in a house fire in 2011. When much of my life was burned to the ground, I learned firsthand how important it was to have a REALTOR I could trust and rely upon during a stressful and unplanned housing transition. That experience strengthened my resilience and deepened my commitment to helping others navigate similar housing and life inflection points with confidence and sensitivity. Many years later, my husband and I are navigating the custom home building process. This has given me hands-on experience with every stage of the process- from planning and layout decisions to material selections and managing the working relationship with lenders and contractors. Clients seeking the professional assistance of real estate broker are almost always heading into, or already going through, one or more major life transitions. My background and personality make me an ideal resource to support clients with a listening ear, patience, strong communication, and steady guidance.
