About Me
I was born in Rhode Island, I am the youngest of five brothers. Growing up in a clergy family, I spent my early years moving from place to place from Vermont to Massachusetts to Virginia. I continued that trend after high school when I enlisted in the United States Coast Guard, returning again to Rhode Island and Massachusetts as a member of a search and rescue team. During my time in the Coast Guard I had the pleasure of traveling around the United States and further as part of an aviation detachment. I know firsthand what it's like to relocate a family.
After serving for 10 years in the Coast Guard, I sought to find a more permanent home for my family. I joined the Vermont State Police and settled in West Rutland in 2001. I became very involved in the community especially with youth athletics and served for many years as a coach and President of the Board of Directors for the Rutland Amateur Hockey Association. Although my children are grown (JT graduated from WVU, is married and has three children; and Caitlynn, a graduate of Virginia Tech, I wasn’t able to shake that volunteer spirit and continue to volunteer as a youth mountain bike instructor for the Rutland Recreation Department.
After finishing my career with the state police I joined the sales team at Alderman’s Chevrolet Buick GMC. After spending a short time as a salesman, I began my new role as Sales Manager. Realizing my affinity for finding the right match for clients from the resources available I return to school and focused on business management and the real estate field.
Though the family is shrinking, I still reside in Rutland Town with my wife Jodi, and our two youngest children, Stella and Dierdre, and our labrador Bear.
The rest, as they say, is history.
