About Me
My experience in the Real Estate industry started in 1972, when I joined by father’s firm, Leonard R. Nix Real Estate. Initially focusing on residential sales, I honed my skills and expanded my experience to become a charter member of the Certified Residential Specialist, a coveted designation awarded by the National Association of Realtors. I am also a member of The Institute for Luxury Home Marketing and hold their CLHMS designation. In 1974, I earned my Broker’s License and in 1976 assumed ownership and management of my father’s firm. The company grew to 16 salespeople, a Property Management Department and 4 salaried employees. In the mid 1980’s I became increasingly active in commercial and income property sales. Given the ever-burgeoning demands of the wine industry, I enjoyed success in sales of vineyard properties. In 1996, I sold the company to Richard Selzer, allowing me to devote all of my efforts to real estate sales.
As a third generation native of Ukiah, I have a unique knowledge of the neighborhoods, schools, resources and people, as well as valuable contacts and long standing relationships with appraiser, lenders, contractors, engineers and other professionals who work in support of the local real estate industry. I lived in Ukiah until 2013, when I purchased a small ranch in Potter Valley, where my partner and I raise sheep. Having spent most of my life living in the west foothills of Ukiah, country life is new to me. However, I am enjoying living on 10 acres, with frontage on the East Fork of the Russian River, in this beautiful valley.
I specialize in residential home sales, as well as luxury homes, ranch, and commercial property. Whether you are buying or selling a home or just curious about the local market, I would love to offer my support and services. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you.
