Gary Himes provides residential home purchase and sales, and commercial real estate advisory to individuals, families and investors in the Denver and Boulder area markets, where he has helped close 46 transactions since February 2015. Previously, Gary was an Associate in the Marcus & Millichap National Hospitality Group in Denver, where he advised on four limited service and resort hotel transactions, including the Carmel River Inn in Monterey, California and the Days Inn in Boulder, CO. Before moving back to Colorado, Gary was Director of Finance for Resort Equities, Inc. and in San Francisco, where he helped complete the acquisition of Northstar Lodge in Tahoe and seed financings for Vacatia.com. Mr. Himes’ initial real estate experience was as an Associate in the REO Group of Glendale Federal Savings during and after business school at UCLA. Mr. Himes additionally brings 20 years of capital raising / investment banking experience from his work on 60 completed transactions totaling more than $1.4 Billion in transaction value at firms that include Naya Ventures, BGS Pharmacy Partners, Capitalsource, Colman, Furlong & Co. and Prudential Securities. Mr. Himes has an MBA from The Anderson School at UCLA and an Advanced Certificate in Real Estate and Hotel Investment from the Cornell School of Hotel Administration. He received a B.A. in Economics from the University of Colorado, after which he was a touring tennis professional on circuits in the U.S. and Europe. Mr. Himes holds a Colorado real estate license and both Series 63 and 79 FINRA securities licenses.
