One day a man was walking along the beach when he noticed a boy picking something up and gently placing it into the ocean. Approaching the boy, he asked, "What are you doing?"
The boy replied, "Putting starfish back into the ocean. The surf is up and the tide is going out. If I don't put them back, they'll die."
"Son," the man said, "don't you realize there are miles and miles of beach and hundreds of starfish? You can't make a difference!"
After listening politely, the boy bent down, picked up another starfish, and put it back into the surf. Then, smiling at the man, he said..." I made a difference for that one."
After 25 years in the technology industry, people will often ask what brought me to real estate. Those close to me know that I also passionately spent 20 of those years buying, renovating and selling homes and saw first-hand what Buyers and Sellers experience throughout what sometimes can be a daunting process. After leaving a successful technology career, I wanted to get back into real estate with a special mission in mind of helping other people. Whether it be helping people find their dream home, helping them sell one they have outgrown or taking on a new investment adventure, I find myself returning to 'The Starfish' story time after time because I know when given the chance, I can make a difference in each and every one of my clients' lives.
As a 3rd-generation, Fort Lauderdale, Florida native, I believe that growing up in this beautiful treasure of a city has given me a unique insight into the true coastal lifestyle and an upper-hand knowledge of the area that only a native Floridian can know and appreciate. Complemented with my years of real estate and technology passion, business ownership experience and natural instinct to help people, it only made sense to become what some clients have called a Unicorn Realtor :)
