Most real estate listings are a reasonably short car ride from the nearest highway, such as Henry Watterson Expy, and it is very easy to access a parking spot. In contrast, the public transit service in this part of the Louisville/Jefferson County metropolitan area is not very frequent. Thankfully, the city is linked by a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far away from most homes. There aren't many pedestrians out on the streets of Windy Hills, despite the fact that many daily errands can be run without a vehicle, and there are also a good number of businesses nearby. It is also challenging to commute by bicycle in Windy Hills as the area is not particularly flat, and there are few bike lanes.

Services

High schools and primary schools are not very abundant in this part of the Louisville/Jefferson County metropolitan area, and accordingly may be an extended trip away. Along with public schools, there are private elementary and secondary schools. In terms of food, it is challenging to reach the closest supermarket without needing to get in a car from most houses for sale in Windy Hills. Likewise, a restaurant is often just around the corner, and a small selection of coffee shops can be found as well.

Character

Windy Hills offers a slower-paced ambience. Most areas in Windy Hills are very quiet, as noise from streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue. Access to parks, like St. Matthews Community Park, is rather challenging from most locations within the city since they aren't well-spread out. Despite that, there are a few public green spaces close by for residents to check out.
