The community features a broad selection of around 40 restaurants and coffee shops, providing diverse dining options for residents. A large portion of the housing consists of charming single detached homes primarily built during the 1960s and 1970s, many offering three bedrooms to accommodate various needs. Convenient access to primary schools enhances educational opportunities, while multiple bus lines serve the area to ensure connectivity. Cars can easily access nearby highways, and plentiful parking options add to everyday convenience.

In contrast, the public transit service in Windcrest is not very frequent. Nonetheless, residents are served by around 10 bus lines, and bus stops are not very far from most homes. Windcrest is not very suited for bicycling because the cycling network is rather limited, and there are a fair number of hills for cyclists to brave.
