Accessibility is convenient, with easy car access to highways and ample parking options. Several bus lines connect the neighborhood to surrounding areas, and dedicated bike infrastructure supports cycling throughout the community. Nearby parks, including Wetlands Nature Preserve and Horsemans and Dog Fanciers Park, provide opportunities for outdoor recreation and nature appreciation. Cars are a very good transportation option in Whitney. The majority of properties for sale are a rather short drive from the nearest highway, and parking is easy. However, this community is not very transit friendly. Nonetheless, the community is served by a few bus lines, and most houses are very close to a bus stop. It is easy to move around by bike in Whitney. It is at times challenging for pedestrians to navigate Whitney as few daily needs can be carried out without a vehicle.

Services

Getting to one of about 10 supermarkets as pedestrians is practical for some, but not all, property owners in Whitney. That being said, those who like to dine in restaurants will have a good number of opportunities, and a limited selection of coffee shops is available as well. As far as education is concerned, locals will value that no matter where their house is located in Whitney, primary schools are close by. However, there are only a very small number of high schools and accordingly they can be a very long pedestrian trip away. Home owners have the choice between public and private schools at both the elementary and secondary school level.

Character

Whitney has a character that appeals to a fairly diverse group of people. Although this community is not known for its vibrancy, finding one of the around 10 bars is easy since they are generally located close by. Whitney is especially quiet overall, as the streets tend to be very peaceful. It is easy to reach green spaces from most locations in the community, since there are around 40 of them close by for residents to unwind in, including Silver Bowl Fields and Russell Road Recreation Complex.
