The favored method of transportation in Waipio is very often a car. The majority of houses for sale are a short drive from the nearest highway, such as I- H-1, and parking is easy. However, the public transit service in Waipio is not very frequent. Thankfully, commuters are served by Waiawa Pearl Highlands Station and Halaulani Leeward Community College Station on the Skyline. There are about 20 bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most residences. Cycling is occasionally challenging in Waipio since cyclists encounter a considerable amount of hills, and this part of the Urban Honolulu metropolitan area has rather limited bicycling infrastructure. Waipio is also not particularly conducive to pedestrians since most day-to-day needs are at times difficult to meet without the use of a car.

Services

Primary schools are easy to reach without the need to get in a vehicle from any location in Waipio. However, high schools are not abundant and thus not always within a short distance. In addition to public schools, there are private elementary and secondary schools. With regards to eating, the nearest grocery store in this part of the Urban Honolulu metropolitan area is usually only a reasonably short pedestrian trip away.
