Driving is very often the favored approach to move around in Wailua. However, Wailua is not very transit friendly. Nonetheless, there are a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far away from most homes. It is sometimes challenging to get around by bike in Wailua because the cycling network is rather limited. Thankfully, it is a flat ride to most destinations. It is also impractical for pedestrians to navigate Wailua as very few daily errands can be run without a car.

There are only a very small number of high schools and primary schools in Wailua and consequently they can be a very long trip away. Regarding food, a car is commonly required in this community to reach the closest grocery store. A limited selection of restaurants and coffee shops can be found as well.

Wailua is a very good community to buy a house in for those who prefer a relaxed environment. Wailua is very quiet overall, as noise from the streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue.
