The car is very often the favored approach to get around in Waikane. It is very convenient to park. However, the transit access in Waikane is fairly poor. Nonetheless, residents are served by a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far away from most houses. This part of the Urban Honolulu metropolitan area is not very bike-friendly as the terrain is not especially flat, and Waikane is home to quite poor bicycling infrastructure. Most houses for sale in this community are located in places that are also not very well-suited for those who get around as pedestrians as meeting daily needs is very challenging without needing to resort to a car.

Services

There are only a limited number of primary schools in Waikane and thus they can be an extended pedestrian trip away. Likewise, this community does not contain any high schools. When it comes to eating, a portion of property owners in Waikane may be able to do their groceries as pedestrians, while others will have to use another means of transportation. There are also a few opportunities for those who appreciate restaurants within a short distance.
