The town features mostly single detached homes and townhouses with spacious layouts, including many three and four-bedroom properties built from the 1960s through the 1980s. Residents benefit from convenient access to general and specialty grocery stores and charming cafes situated along Main Street, offering pleasant options nearby. Public transit connections include several bus lines with stops typically close by, supplementing local travel needs. Thankfully, there are a few bus lines passing through the town, and most homes are very close to a bus stop. This part of the Greater Washington metropolitan area is not very conducive to cycling because there are a fair number of slopes to challenge cyclists, and there are few bike lanes.
