Driving is a great transportation option in this town. It is convenient to park. In contrast, traveling by transit can be very hard in Torrington due to the infrequent service. Thankfully, there are a few bus lines crossing the town, and bus stops are commonly a short distance away.
The closest grocery store in Torrington is usually only a short trip away. Furthermore, those who like to dine in restaurants will have a fair number of options, for instance along Water Street, and there are also approximately 10 coffee shops in this area. With regards to education, it is a rather short trip to access primary schools from anywhere in Torrington. On the other hand, high schools are not plentiful and thus may require a very long pedestrian trip to get to. Residents are served by public and private schools at both the elementary and high school level.
The character of Torrington is exemplified by its slower-paced environment. Torrington is quiet overall, as the streets tend to be peaceful - however some parts can be quite loud, especially near the railway line.
