People who want to live in a compact area will welcome the moderately pedestrian-friendly character of this part of Boise City; many daily needs are easy to meet without a car, and a fair number of businesses of different types can be found as well. Bicycling is adopted in this area because it is an even ride to most locations. Residents using public transit may have few options in Sunset by reason of the low service level. Nonetheless, homeowners are served by a few bus lines, and it is especially convenient to get to a nearby bus stop from most properties. However, traveling by car is easy in this part of the city. Many homes for sale are a reasonably short drive from the nearest highway, and finding a place to park is generally easy.

It is very often practical for house buyers in Sunset to do their grocery shopping as pedestrians. Likewise, there is typically a restaurant or cafe just around the corner. In terms of education, primary schools are straightforward to reach as a pedestrian from most homes for sale in this part of the city. Although this area is not known for its lively ambience, with the nightlife venues in nearby neighborhoods, it is easy to find a place to grab a drink since they are generally located within a short distance. The noise levels in Sunset are especially low, as noise from streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue. It is very easy to get to public green spaces in the neighborhood since there are a few of them close by for residents to enjoy.
