The car is very often the favored approach to move around in Southside. Accessing a parking spot is quite easy, and most homes for sale are a rather short drive from the nearest highway, such as US Hwy 127. On the other hand, Southside is not an especially pleasant part of Lansing for traveling by public transit. Thankfully, homeowners have access to about 20 bus lines, and bus stops are generally very close by. The bike is a fairly good mode of transportation in Southside as the bicycling network is comprehensive. A majority of the homes for sale in this part of the city are located in places that are not particularly convenient for pedestrians as few common errands can be run without a car.
Services
It is a rather short pedestrian trip to reach primary schools from most properties for sale in this part of the city. On the other hand, high schools are not especially abundant and therefore not always within a short distance. Apart from public schools, there are private elementary and high schools. With regards to eating, it is usually an option for house buyers in this part of Lansing to purchase their groceries as pedestrians. Additionally, a restaurant is often just around the corner, for example on South Street, and a limited variety of cafes is available as well.
