Southington
Southington offers a serene environment with spacious single detached homes and townhouses primarily built around 1972, featuring generous three- and four-bedroom layouts. Residents benefit from convenient access to over ten grocery stores and more than 150 restaurants and coffee shops, providing diverse dining and shopping options. The town boasts proximity to primary schools and a selection of both public and private educational institutions at different levels. Easy access to major highways such as I-691 ensures smooth travel by car, and ample parking is available throughout the area, making driving a practical choice for daily commuting and errands.
Driving is very often the best method to navigate Southington. It is very convenient to access a parking spot, and the majority of properties for sale are a rather short drive from the closest highway, such as Yankee Expy. It is difficult for pedestrians to get around in Southington since few common errands can be run without needing to use a car. The bicycle is a rather limited mode of transportation in this town as the cycling infrastructure is not very well-developed, and there are a good number of elevation changes.
In all but a limited number of cases, a car is required in Southington to access one of approximately 20 supermarkets. However, a restaurant is often just around the corner, and a small selection of cafes is available as well. When it comes to education, it is a rather short pedestrian trip to access primary schools from most houses for sale in this area. On the other hand, there are only a very small number of high schools and therefore they can be a very long distance away. Locals can choose between public and private schools at both the elementary and high school level.
Southington is a town to buy a house in for those who prefer a laid-back atmosphere. Southington remains relatively quiet, due to the presence of very few pedestrians. Parks are sparse, making it occasionally difficult to reach them. Still, there are over 50 public green spaces close by for residents to check out, including Mountain Grove Swim Club and Girl Scouts of CT.
