Driving is very often the best mode of transportation in this town. Finding a parking spot is generally easy. A majority of the homes for sale in this town are located in places that are not very conducive to those who travel as pedestrians as few daily needs can be carried out without a car. South Windsor is also not very appropriate for bicycling because there are very few bike lanes, and there are a fair number of slopes for cyclists to brave.
Services
House buyers in South Windsor often have to turn to a car to travel to one of approximately 40 supermarkets. A limited variety of restaurants and cafes is available as well. With respect to education, there are only a very small number of high schools and primary schools in South Windsor and accordingly they can be a very long distance away. Residents benefit from public and private schools at both the elementary and secondary school level.

Home buyers who prefer a relaxed environment will enjoy South Windsor. South Windsor is quiet overall, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamor - however some parts can be quite loud, especially near one of the railway lines, the airport (Bancroft), I-291 or Wilbur Cross Hwy. Parks aren't well-situated, which makes them occasionally hard to access from most locations in the town. Despite that, there are over 150 parks nearby for residents to check out, such as Milo W. Peck Community Center and Major Michael Donnelly Land Preserve.
