South Maui is an extraordinarily convenient part of the Kahului-Wailuku-Lahaina metropolitan area for getting around by car. Finding a parking spot is quite easy. South Maui is not very bicycling-friendly because the cycling infrastructure is rather limited, and bicycle riders are faced with a considerable amount of slopes. Traveling as a pedestrian is also not very feasible for residents in this part of the Kahului-Wailuku-Lahaina metropolitan area because meeting daily needs is at times difficult without the use of a vehicle.

Locals may find it very difficult to reach high schools and primary schools as pedestrians. Regarding food, home buyers in South Maui almost always have to use a car to shop for groceries in one of around 20 stores.
