Slana offers a peaceful and relaxed environment characterized by quiet streets and low noise levels. The community features mostly single detached homes, with a diverse range of unit sizes available from lofts to residences with four or more bedrooms. Housing includes many newer buildings constructed after the year 2000, alongside well-maintained homes from previous decades. The community has convenient access for personal vehicle travel, making errands and commuting straightforward. Although bicycling infrastructure is limited due to elevation changes, there is still a notable presence of cycling within the area. Overall, Slana provides a calm setting with a variety of housing options.
Slana is an extraordinarily convenient community for traveling by car. Slana is not very bicycling-friendly since there are very few bike lanes, and cyclists are faced with quite a few slopes. Nonetheless, a good number of residents decide to travel by bike. Slana is also not very conducive to those who get around as pedestrians as almost no daily errands can be run without a vehicle.
High schools and primary schools are not abundant in this community, and thus tend to be a very long trip away. As far as eating is concerned, house buyers in Slana almost always have to turn to a car to do grocery shopping.
