Driving is an excellent transportation option in this community. The majority of real estate listings are a reasonably short car ride from the closest highway, such as Patuxent Freeway, and it is especially convenient to park. On the other hand, the public transit system in Severn is not very practical. Nonetheless, homeowners can count on the Dorsey on the Camden - Washington. The community is connected by a few bus lines, and it is easy to reach a nearby bus stop from most properties. This community is not very amenable to bicycling because the cycling network is not very extensive, and there are a good number of hills for cyclists to brave. It is also impractical for pedestrians to move around in this community since very few day-to-day needs can be met without a vehicle.
Services
High schools and primary schools are not very numerous in Severn, and thus tend to be a rather long trip away. Residents are served by public and private schools at both the elementary and secondary school level. Regarding eating, it is frequently an option for house buyers in this part of the Greater Baltimore metropolitan area to buy groceries without a car. Severn offers a calm environment and will appeal to home buyers who enjoy spending time in green spaces. This community is especially quiet overall, as noise from the streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue near one of the railway lines, Patuxent Freeway or I-97.
