Rayland is not very conducive to biking as there is a considerable amount of elevation changes, and the cycling network is not very well-developed. A majority of the houses for sale in this village are located in places that are also not very convenient for those who like to get around as pedestrians because running day-to-day errands is difficult without a car.

Property owners in Rayland will welcome that a grocery store is always only a reasonably short distance away. A limited variety of restaurants is available in Rayland as well. With regards to education, there are only a few primary schools in this part of the Weirton-Steubenville metropolitan area and consequently they can be an extended trip away. Moreover, Rayland does not have any high schools.
