Rainier is especially car friendly. It is very convenient to come across a parking spot, and many real estate listings are a reasonably short drive from the nearest highway. Traveling as a pedestrian is not very convenient for home buyers in this part of the Portland metropolitan area since very few daily needs can be met without the need to get in a vehicle. The bike is a fairly poor means of transportation in Rainier because bicycle riders encounter quite a few hills, and the cycling infrastructure is not very comprehensive.
