There aren't many pedestrians out on the streets of Oliver, despite the fact that many daily errands can be run without a car. It is also difficult to move around by bicycle in this community as there are few bike lanes, and riding is made strenuous by the typically steep terrain.

In contrast, high schools are not especially abundant and thus may require a rather long distance to get to.
