Fairbanks North Star
North Pole offers a peaceful atmosphere with generally quiet streets, providing a relaxing place to reside. The neighborhood mainly consists of single detached homes and duplexes, with a rich mix of architectural styles built between the 1960s and 2000s. A variety of housing sizes is available, ranging from lofts to spacious homes with four or more bedrooms. Convenience is enhanced by nearby access to supermarkets and about 10 restaurants and cafes, adding to local charm. Educational facilities, including primary and high schools, are easily accessible from all parts of the community. Public transit options include several bus lines with stops close by.
Commuting by car is very easy in this part of the Fairbanks metropolitan area. In contrast, public transit riders may have limited choices in North Pole as a result of the low service level. Thankfully, residents benefit from a few bus lines, and the closest bus stop is generally very close by. Although cyclists do not encounter serious elevation changes, North Pole is not very appropriate for cycling as this city has rather poor cycling infrastructure. It is also inconvenient for pedestrians to get around in North Pole since very few daily needs can be carried out without a vehicle.
A supermarket is usually reachable within a reasonably short distance from anywhere in North Pole. There are also a few options for those who value close by restaurants and cafes. As far as education is concerned, it is a rather short distance to get to both primary and secondary schools from any location in North Pole. House buyers can choose between public and private elementary schools.
The character of North Pole is exemplified by its relaxed environment. North Pole is quiet overall, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamor - although there are still several louder areas, especially closer to the railway line or one of the 4 airports (Bradley Sky-Ranch,Airway,Timber Trails,Howards).
