Most houses for sale in this neighborhood are located in areas that are suitable for those who travel as pedestrians; running common errands is convenient without needing to get in a vehicle, and various businesses are rather close by. On the other hand, biking is at times difficult in North Hills because there is a significant amount of elevation changes, and the bicycling infrastructure is not particularly comprehensive. Cars are a fairly good transportation option in North Hills. It is very convenient to park. On the other hand, the public transit service in this part of the city is not very frequent. Thankfully, there is the Santa Fe Depot Rail Runner Station. There are approximately 10 bus lines passing through the neighborhood, and bus stops are generally very close by.
Services
Primary schools are convenient to get to as a pedestrian from most homes for sale in this part of the city. However, high schools are not especially plentiful and thus not always within a short distance. At the elementary level, there are both public and private schools. When it comes to eating, it is easy to reach the nearest grocery store as a pedestrian in this part of Santa Fe. In addition, North Hills is a fairly good place in which to go out to eat or go to a cafe. It is also a rather short distance to a reasonable choice of clothing stores.
Character
North Hills offers an unique mix of areas that are both busy and quiet. Although the ambience is not the liveliest in this area with its about 20 bars, there are options for nighttime activities. At the same time, this part of Santa Fe is especially quiet, as there are generally low levels of noise from traffic.
