In contrast, the public transit in North Gates is quite bad. Nonetheless, there are about 20 bus lines traversing the community, and it is straightforward to reach a nearby bus stop from most properties. The bike is a good method of transportation in this community. Many of the houses for sale in this part of the Rochester metropolitan area are located in places that are not particularly convenient for people who travel as pedestrians because meeting daily needs is occasionally difficult without a car.

There are only a few high schools and primary schools in this community and accordingly they can be a long trip away. In addition to public schools, there are private elementary and high schools. In terms of food, it is easy to reach the closest grocery store without a vehicle in North Gates. Additionally, a restaurant is often just around the corner, and property owners benefit from a few cafes as well.

North Gates offers a calm atmosphere and will appeal to those who enjoy spending time outdoors. This community is reasonably quiet overall, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamor - although there are still several louder sections, especially near the railway line. Finally, public green spaces, including Memorial Park and First Responders Park, are very well-situated and there are a few of them nearby for residents to enjoy, resulting in them being easy to get to from a large number of locations within North Gates.
