Cars are an excellent mode of transportation in Nitro. It is especially convenient to park. On the other hand, residents using public transit may experience limited choices in Nitro due to the low service level. Nevertheless, the city is connected by a few bus lines, and most houses are very close to a bus stop. Nitro is not very suited for bicycling because there are few bike lanes, and cyclists are faced with quite a few slopes. A majority of the homes for sale in this city are located in places that are also not very suitable for those who get around as pedestrians because very few daily errands can be run without a car.
House buyers in this part of the Charleston metropolitan area usually have to turn to a vehicle to access one of about 10 supermarkets. Nevertheless, reaching the nearest pharmacy and consequently some basic food items is typically convenient. There are also a limited number of options for those who appreciate nearby restaurants. In terms of education, high schools and primary schools are not very plentiful in Nitro, and accordingly not always within a short distance. Residents benefit from public and private schools at both the elementary and secondary school level.
People who prefer a calm atmosphere will enjoy Nitro. Most areas in Nitro are quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamor - however some parts can be quite loud, especially closer to I-64 or one of the railway lines.
