In contrast, public transit riders may experience few choices in this part of the Harrisburg-Carlisle metropolitan area as a result of the infrequent service. Nonetheless, the community is served by a few bus lines, and most houses are very close to a bus stop. A majority of the houses for sale in this part of the Harrisburg-Carlisle metropolitan area are located in areas that are not very conducive to pedestrians because carrying out daily needs is challenging without a vehicle. The bicycle is a fairly poor method of transportation in New Kingstown since the terrain is not especially flat, and there are few bike lanes.

High schools and primary schools are not very plentiful in this community, and therefore not always within a short distance. Regarding eating, a vehicle is generally needed in New Kingstown to reach the closest supermarket.

People who prefer a relaxed ambience will enjoy New Kingstown. New Kingstown is quiet overall, as the streets are usually quite peaceful - although that is not the case around the railway line. Reaching green spaces, including Stony Ridge Park, is very difficult from the majority of locations in the community since they aren't well-distributed. Still, there are a few parks nearby for residents to enjoy.
