Moving around by car is very convenient in New Hartford Center. It is very easy to park. In contrast, the public transit system in this community is fairly poor. Thankfully, the community is served by a few bus lines, and most houses are very close to a bus stop. New Hartford Center is not very amenable to cycling since there are very few bike lanes, and cyclists are faced with a significant amount of elevation changes. A majority of the houses for sale in this community are located in places that are also not very suitable for those who get around as pedestrians because meeting daily needs is challenging without a car.
Services
It is a reasonably short trip to get to primary schools from most properties for sale in this community. However, this community does not have any high schools. Concerning eating, in all but a very small number of cases, a car is needed in this community to access the nearest supermarket. Nevertheless, pharmacies are typically straightforward to reach as a pedestrian and provide some basic food items. There are also a few opportunities for those who value close by restaurants and cafes.
Character
New Hartford Center offers a slower-paced environment and will appeal to those who enjoy spending time in green spaces. Reaching parks, including The Village and Barkhamsted Reservoir Watershed Reserve Land, is easy from the majority of locations within the community and there are around 20 of them nearby for residents to visit. This community is also reasonably good for those who enjoy quiet surroundings, as noise from the streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue.
