Residents find nearby pharmacies and some grocery essentials within easy reach, alongside a modest selection of restaurants. Parking is plentiful, making automobile travel straightforward, and train stations are reasonably close for regional connections.

Transportation
The car is very often the preferred transportation option in New Canaan. It is very convenient to come across a parking spot. However, this town is not very transit friendly. Thankfully, train stations, including the New Canaan and Talmadge Hill on the New Canaan, are not especially far from the greater part of properties in the town. House owners are served by a few bus lines. Commuting by bicycle is challenging in New Canaan since cyclists encounter a considerable amount of hills, and this town is home to fairly poor bicycling infrastructure. Traveling as a pedestrian in this town is also not very common, even though many daily errands can be run without a vehicle.
Services
It is rarely feasible for property owners in New Canaan to purchase groceries in one of approximately 10 stores as pedestrians. Nevertheless, pharmacies are generally convenient to get to without needing a car and sell some staple foods. A limited variety of restaurants and coffee shops can be found as well. With regards to education, locals will welcome the proximity to primary schools, which are within a short distance from the majority of homes for sale in New Canaan. However, there are only a very small number of high schools and thus they can be a very long trip away. Apart from public schools, there are private elementary and high schools.
Character
There are a lot of green spaces to enjoy in New Canaan. There are around 30 parks nearby for residents to check out, including Vista Road Open Space and Woodway Park, making them easy to get to. Thanks to the presence of few people out and about on the streets, this town is relatively quiet; however there can be higher levels of noise for those who are around the railway line.
