Munhall
Munhall offers a peaceful environment characterized by quiet streets that create a calm and relaxed atmosphere. The borough features a variety of housing options, including charming single detached homes, small apartment buildings, and duplexes mostly built before the 1960s. Educational opportunities are readily accessible with multiple public and private schools for different grades located nearby. While car travel is convenient with ample parking and close bus stops, residents also benefit from several dining options with approximately ten restaurants within the community. Access to green spaces is available in adjacent boroughs, adding additional outdoor recreation possibilities outside the immediate area.
This part of the Pittsburgh metropolitan area is fairly car friendly. It is easy to find a parking spot. However, this borough is not very transit friendly. Nonetheless, house owners benefit from about 10 bus lines, and it is especially convenient to find a nearby bus stop from most properties. Biking is challenging in Munhall as riding is rendered arduous by the typically steep area, and the bicycling network is not very extensive. Traveling as a pedestrian is also not very popular in this part of the Pittsburgh metropolitan area, although many day-to-day errands can be run without a vehicle.
Primary as well as high schools are convenient to get to without needing a car from any location in this borough. In addition to public schools, there are private elementary and high schools. With respect to eating, a vehicle is commonly required in this borough to reach the closest grocery store. Conversely, a restaurant is often just around the corner, for example along Hazel Way, and a small variety of coffee shops can be found as well.
Munhall is unique in that it contains both vibrant and quiet areas, making it appealing to more people. Although the ambience is not the liveliest in this borough finding one of the around 20 nightlife venues is very easy as they are generally situated in very convenient locations. Hazel Way in particular offers a wide selection of places to go out at night. At the same time, this part of the Pittsburgh metropolitan area is wonderful for those who need quiet surroundings, as the streets are usually very tranquil. It is sometimes challenging to reach parks within the borough since they are sparse. Despite that, there are about 30 parks nearby for residents to visit.
