In contrast, Montville is not very transit friendly. Thankfully, residents profit from the Towaco on the Montclair-Boonton Line. The township is served by a few bus lines, and the nearest bus stop is typically relatively close by. Traveling by bicycle is challenging in Montville because there is a considerable amount of elevation changes, and the bicycling network is not very extensive. It is also challenging for pedestrians to get around in this township since very few daily errands can be run without a car.

There are only a few high schools and primary schools in this township and therefore they can be a rather long trip away. Property buyers have the option of public and private schools at both the elementary and high school level. When it comes to food, in all but a few cases, a car is required to buy groceries in one of about 20 stores. A limited number of restaurants and cafes can be found as well.

Character

Montville is a very good township to buy a house in for those who prefer a calm ambience. Access to green spaces, like Volunteers Park and Lake Rickabear Day Camp, is easy from numerous locations in the township and there are over 50 of them nearby for residents to explore. This area is also very quiet, as noise from streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue.
