Cars are an excellent mode of transportation in Longmeadow. It is very easy to access a parking spot, and the majority of homes for sale are a reasonably short car ride from the nearest highway, such as I-91. However, Longmeadow is not an especially convenient part of the Springfield metropolitan area for getting around by public transit. Thankfully, the community is served by a few bus lines, and bus stops are typically very close by. This part of the Springfield metropolitan area is not very well-suited for pedestrians since few daily errands can be run without a vehicle. Commuting by bicycle is also at times challenging in this community as the bicycling infrastructure is not very extensive, and there are a good number of hills.

Primary schools are convenient to reach without the use of a vehicle from most properties for sale in Longmeadow. In contrast, high schools are not particularly abundant and thus not always within a short distance. Locals are served by public and private schools at both the elementary and high school level. In terms of eating, shopping for one's groceries often requires the use of a vehicle in Longmeadow. Nevertheless, reaching the closest pharmacy and accordingly some staple foods is typically easy.
