Housing predominantly consists of townhouses and single detached homes, many built around 1989, with numerous options featuring three bedrooms. While transit options include a few bus lines with nearby stops, the area’s calm atmosphere and proximity to nature make it a pleasant place for residents.

This neighborhood is very car friendly. It is especially convenient to park, and nearby highways are very easy to drive to from anywhere in Longmead. In contrast, residents using public transit may find few options in Longmead due to the service's low frequency. Nonetheless, homeowners benefit from a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far from most homes. Longmead is not particularly suited for biking since cyclists are faced with a considerable amount of hills, and Longmead is home to sometimes poor bicycling infrastructure. A majority of the houses for sale in this neighborhood are located in places that are also not very suitable for people who like to travel as pedestrians because very few common errands can be run without the need for a vehicle.

Services

There are only a very small number of high schools in Longmead and thus they can be a very long pedestrian trip away. Moreover, this part of Aspen Hill does not contain any primary schools. When it comes to food, in the majority of cases, a vehicle is needed to do groceries. There are also a few options for those who appreciate restaurants and cafes within a short distance.

The character of Longmead is exemplified by its slower-paced environment. This area is reasonably quiet, as the streets tend to be quite peaceful. Finally, it is very easy to reach parks from the majority of locations in the neighborhood, since getting to one from the majority of houses for sale is easy and there are a few parks nearby for residents to check out.
