Portland
Little Diamond Island offers a peaceful and quiet environment, characterized by its slower-paced atmosphere and low traffic noise. The neighborhood primarily features single detached homes, many built before 1960, providing charming architectural character and spacious options with three or more bedrooms. Parking is convenient and typically available, making car travel an efficient way to access the area. A number of bus lines serve the community, with stops located near most residences, ensuring easy transit access. While the area lacks dedicated bike lanes, the proximity to various amenities ensures a comfortable daily living experience in a tranquil setting.
Driving is usually the preferred approach to get around in this neighborhood. Accessing a parking spot is generally easy. On the other hand, the public transit service in Little Diamond Island is not very frequent. Nonetheless, the neighborhood is linked by a few bus lines, and most properties are very close to a bus stop. Commuting by bicycle is challenging in this part of Portland because there are quite a few slopes, and the cycling network is not very comprehensive. Little Diamond Island is also not very suitable for people who like to travel as pedestrians because almost no common errands can be run without needing to get in a vehicle.
There are only a very small number of primary schools in this part of the city and therefore they can be a very long distance away. Furthermore, Little Diamond Island does not contain any high schools. With respect to eating, it is very rarely feasible for property owners in this area to shop for groceries as pedestrians. Additionally, those who like to dine in restaurants will have a good number of opportunities.
Little Diamond Island offers an unique mix of areas that are both busy and quiet. Although the atmosphere is not the most lively in this part of the city with the bars in nearby neighborhoods, it is very hard to find a place to grab a drink as they are generally located very far.
