Laurel
Laurel offers a peaceful environment with calm streets and easy accessibility to numerous daily necessities. The district provides a diverse selection of housing options, from lofts to spacious residences, spread across charming single detached homes and stylish apartment complexes. Residents benefit from convenient car access to highways and available parking, complemented by nearby bus routes that connect to surrounding areas. With over 20 grocery stores and more than 100 restaurants, there is an abundance of places to shop and dine. Several educational institutions cater to all levels, and about 10 local parks provide green spaces for relaxation and recreation.
This district is rather convenient for pedestrians; meeting daily needs is easy without needing a car, and there are also a fair number of businesses nearby. In contrast, cycling is challenging in Laurel since there are a limited number of bike lanes, and the terrain is not particularly flat. Traveling by car is very easy in Laurel. It is a reasonably short drive to the nearest highway, such as I-95, from any location in Laurel, and it is convenient to park. However, this district is not very transit friendly. Thankfully, commuters profit from the Muirkirk, Laurel Racetrack and Laurel on the Camden - Washington. The district is served by about 10 bus lines, and most houses are very close to a bus stop.
In Laurel, home owners will commonly be able to get to primary schools as pedestrians. However, locals may consider it challenging to access high schools without needing to get in a vehicle. Home owners have the choice between public and private schools at both the elementary and secondary school level. As far as eating is concerned, the closest grocery store in this area is generally only a rather short distance away. Cherry Lane Court is among the best streets for food stores. Furthermore, a restaurant is often just around the corner, and a small variety of coffee shops is available as well. It is also a rather short distance to a reasonable variety of clothing stores.
Laurel offers a calm environment and will appeal to home buyers who enjoy spending time outdoors. Getting to public green spaces from the majority of locations within the district, like Cross Creek Park and Patuxent Research Refuge, is easy, since there are over 100 of them close by for residents to explore, including Snow Hill Manor Historic Site and Fairland Regional Park. This area is also very good for those who enjoy a quiet atmosphere, as noise from the streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue.
