Access to nearby highways is highly convenient, allowing for smooth vehicular travel and ample parking availability. Though transit options are limited, many daily destinations can be reached easily by vehicle. While dedicated cycling infrastructure is modest, the mostly gentle terrain minimizes elevation changes. Quiet surroundings and easy proximity to well-located parks in adjacent neighborhoods contribute to the welcoming environment.

Lakewood is very car friendly. It is very convenient to find a place to park, and nearby highways are easy to reach from any location in this area. On the other hand, getting around by transit can be very difficult in Lakewood by reason of the low service level. Thankfully, there are a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far away from most homes. Lakewood is not especially conducive to bicycling because the bicycling infrastructure is not very well-developed. Nevertheless, there are a limited number of elevation changes. It is also challenging for pedestrians to navigate Lakewood because few daily needs can be met without the use of a car.

There are only a very small number of high schools in Lakewood and consequently they can be a very long distance away. Moreover, this area does not have any primary schools. In terms of food, the nearest grocery store in this area is typically only a very long trip away. Moreover, those who like to dine in restaurants will have a good number of choices, and there are also a few coffee shops in this part of Provo.

People who prefer a calm atmosphere will enjoy Lakewood. It is easy to get to parks from most locations within the neighborhood since there are a few of them close by for residents to discover. This area is also especially quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamor.
