The preferred means of transportation in Lakeview is usually driving. It is very easy to park, and many properties for sale are a rather short drive from the nearest highway, such as I-220. Lakeview is not very convenient for pedestrians as very few day-to-day needs can be carried out without a vehicle. The bicycle is a rather limited means of transportation in this community because there are a fair number of elevation changes for cyclists to brave, and Lakeview has quite poor cycling infrastructure.

There are only a very small number of primary schools in Lakeview and thus they can be a very long trip away. Additionally, this part of the Shreveport-Bossier City metropolitan area does not have any high schools.
