Cars are a very good medium of transportation in Jackson. It is easy to park. In contrast, Jackson is not an especially convenient city for getting around by public transit. Nevertheless, residents are served by a few bus lines, and bus stops are usually very close by. Many of the houses for sale in this city are located in places that are not especially suitable for people who travel as pedestrians as few daily errands can be run without needing to use a car. Jackson is also not very cycling-friendly because riding is rendered strenuous by the often hilly topography, and the bicycling network is not very extensive. Nonetheless, there is a moderately high density of cyclists.
Services
Both primary and secondary schools are convenient to reach without a vehicle from anywhere in Jackson. In terms of eating, home buyers in this city will appreciate that a grocery store is always only a reasonably short trip away. Residents can enjoy over 50 restaurants and coffee shops as well.

Jackson offers a slower-paced environment. Jackson is fairly good for those who like quiet areas, as noise from the streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue - although that is not the case near the airport (Westover Field Amador County).
